Why am I doing this?

For crying out loud!

Yes, this is what is happening at the Ozenberger house. We are letting Dillon cry it out at night. I used to rock him asleep in the recliner, but he has decided to learn to keep him self awake. Meanwhile, rubbing his eyes and getting grumpy. So we starting putting him down and letting him cry it out. 5 nights now. He still cries for 15-2O minutes before falling asleep. I hate it and hope this ends soon. He is so much like Jason - bullheaded. We need prayers so we can keep doing this. Listening to your child cry is the worse!!

BTW: Google letting your baby cry and see what you get. A TON of crap!! Ahh, gotta love the internet!!

Almost a 4

I finally got my grade for my final class. As I expected, an A. I am sad to say that I did not complete my Master's with a perfect 4.O. I missed it by a hair. I ended the program with a 3.8. Not too shabby!

Christmas is over and I have to admit I am glad - too much traveling. I foresee us staying home in the future for Christmas. I want Dillon to be at his house on Christmas morning to open presents.

We are now giving Dillon cereal once a day. It is going pretty good - not too messy!! It is easier now with a highchair.

Faux-Hawk

Dillon's first faux-hawk...

I can't explain to you how in love I am with this child. For those of you without children, this sounds weird. Trust me I know - I said the same stuff before Dillon. It is totally different than my love for Jas. Hard to explain.

We are playing the bed time game. I am happy to report Jason and I are currently winning. It is hard though. I hate listening to him cry. We'll see what the next days bring.

Merry Christmas!

I know it is a few days early, but we are going home. Have a safe and good one.

I'll be so happy when...

Dillon can talk and tell me what he needs and wants. I know that is selfish, but I have so much anxiety about trying to figure it all out. For example, the other morning he was grumpy and crying. I tried everything, except feeding him because he ate not too much earlier. Well yep, he was hungry. Finally I fed him and he crashed - asleep. I am scared I am scaring him for life!! I think he is ok. Other children do better with a lot less...

My so called celebration:

Well, be it the timing or the weather, not too many people made it to the open house. Gerrit and his wife, Amanda, and Haley. Thank you guys for coming. And of course, thank you to Jason and Dillon for hosting. We ate at Flat Branch and took some, ok a lot, of spare cake to Jon and Leslie. They are in the process of moving and needed some sugar.

Master?

Here is your daily dose of Dillon!

I am officially done! Grades are not in yet, but I have no worries. You'd think it would be smooth sailing now...not really. Work is killing me and Dillon has a stuffy nose. I have felt a little off the past few days. Maybe I am getting sick myself? Maybe the stress of everything over the last semester is finally catching up? Who knows. I am also having problems getting in the Christmas mood. I am getting to the point that I hate shopping for people. I still love giving gifts, but it is too hard to try and guess what people want. Oh well, enough complaining for one day.

A weird experience

Last night Jason, Dillon, and I went to Flat Branch for dinner. I parked in the back gravel parking lot. I parked next to a Subaru that was parked closed to the driveway. I even thought that when I pulled in next to it. Well not even thinking, I came out after dinner and looked at the same car and the back in was smashed - not putting two and two together. Jason and I commented on the car and went home. On my way home, I realized that it happened while we were in Flat Branch eating - fire trucks came and the whole 9 yards! I can't believe the car did not get pushed into mine. Very weird....

Anyhoo, went to a graduation reception at Stephens today. I guess it is official - I am educated!

Different day, same post

Take yesterday's post, and insert a man in a white Silverado and add the cell phone. Now you have my story for today - only I did not bet him to Jeff. He pulled away from me after Ashland and dropped me!!

Do you think it is a good excuse...

I was thinking that a good excuse for getting out of a speeding ticket is, " Officer, I was just trying to get away from the lady in the Ford Freestyle that was driving crazy while putting on her make-up." I think that is a good excuse.

I haven't complained about the drive to Jefferson City lately, so I am now going to do it. I also have not talked in bike language, so I will make my complaint story that way...

When I left my house this morning, I was taking a neutral lap because the streets of Columbia were a little slick. Obviously, everyone else missed the announcement of the race being neutral. Once I hit Highway 63, it was clear sailing - oh but wait, here comes the Ford Freestyle. She was constantly going on the attack, only to go out in the wind and die. I reeled her back in on every attack. Finally, I got sick of the attacking, so I went on the attack, finally dropping her by the time we were almost to Jeff. I clearly won the race and I look forward to racing her again in the future!

I am a nerd! One more class left!

6 degrees of separation

Ok, it is not even 6 degrees. I found out today that my professor, she supervises me in my school work, knows the drummer and bassist from the band TOOL. Hello! How cool is that? She was a the Chiefs game with them yesterday. I guess that is only 3 degrees of separation. This is about as cool as when Kara, an old friend, ended up hanging out with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers on accident one night in KC. Ahh, band talk. Concerts, what are they?

O Christmas tree!!!

I had a wonderful surprise when I got home yesterday. Jason and Dillon had put up the Christmas tree. It looks wonderful! Of course, that was short lived. Yep, it went down last night. Oscar tipped it over - not even standing one full day. I keep thinking I am going to buy a real tree or a nice big artificial one, but I can't...it would get torn up! So we have a little Charlie Brown tree. Oh, well - it is still beautiful!! I can't wait till Christmas.
