Ghetto Shifting

So I forgot to mention the best part of our bike ride on Friday. We decided to take our cross bikes, mostly b/c my rode bike is in pieces in the basement b/c Jason steals parts from it. Anyway, we were getting ready to climb a hill and Jason was in the big ring. He decided to put it in the little ring, but after pushing the shift lever - nothing - it wouldn't move. So Jason, being the smart bikeler that he is, started bunny hopping his bike. Sure enough, the force moved the chain to the small ring. Ghetto shifting!!

In other news, Dillon has already ripped the nose piece off his new glasses! Yes folks, this endeavor will be expensive!

Maybe-

Maybe, just maybe, I should learn to post more frequently so I would not have so much to say. Yeah right, I always have too much to say. So let's back up to last week. We took Dillon to an eye specialist at the University of Missouri because we had an earlier test that indicated he may have some eye problems. Dillon now has to wear glasses and an eye patch for three hours a day. This is a HUGE challenge since he is 22 months old. We are slowly working on this.

We all traveled to Iowa for the holiday weekend. Friday afternoon, Jason and I left Dillon with my mom and went for a bike ride. That was SO nice. I enjoy riding! Saturday we went to Falls City, Nebraska to camp with some old friends. Once again, Dillon stayed with grandma. It was nice to get to hang out with old friends and catch up. Sunday we went back to mom's, picked up Dillon and headed to Joe Town. Monday, we packed up and came home. We unpacked, played outside a bit and went to Metzdorf's for dinner. It is so nice to get home from a long weekend and get invited to a friends house for dinner!!

Yesterday, Dillon started a new day care. It is in Ashland and close to Jason's work. He did well and participated great! It is a couple weeks of new things for the Ozenberger's, so say a prayer for us!!

Wow, what a weekend!

We managed to squeeze in a ton of stuff this weekend. Saturday morning, I got up and went to some garage sales. Dillon and Jason ate breakfast. I came home, Jason went for a ride, and Dillon and I went for a run. Boy, is it getting hard to push that kid in the jogging stroller! A normally 45 minute run took me 60 minutes. We grabbed some lunch and came home to play outside. Later that afternoon we went to Wal-Mart and FINALLY purchased a lawn mower with a motor!

Sunday we took a family bike ride and I decided to go for a run after that. It hurt. Ate lunch out - AGAIN. Dillon took a nap, Jason went to the store and I mowed. Why did Jason go to the store you might ask? He went to Wal-Mart and purchased a weed eater. He just got groceries while he was there. We spent the rest of the day mowing, weed eating, and cleaning up. Our back yard looks good, but we still need to get the brush pile out of the backyard.

On another note - I have been having some very strange dreams.

My new do!

For those of you that have not seen me, I got my hair chopped off. It is so nice. The color is funky too. Oddly enough, I got called "punk-rock girl" last night. Weird. I was not sure how to take that?

I tried to cut my finger off this morning. Very weird story that involves a computer monitor, a co-worker and a dumpster. Hmmm, interesting huh? This particular co-worker tried to cut her finger off a few months back in my presence. Maybe we both have a secret obsession with fingers?!

Just realized...

I just realized that it will be June before much longer. That means it is birthday time for me again. One of these years, I am going to have a HUGE bash. This year I will be 31!!! I can't believe it! Dillon will soon be 2, which is even more unbelievable.

Used to be 40 seemed so old to me - now, not so much.

A new season of DOG is on. You should check it out!

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all those Moms out there!

We had a good weekend. We took off Friday and went to the STL Zoo. It rained the entire time. Oh well. We got in two hours there. My mom came down and went with us.

Saturday, we went to garage sales and found a few bargains. That night, Jason and I got to eat out alone.

Yesterday was spent hanging out and doing a lot of nothing!

Weekend

I am so tired of living for the weekend and then having it fly by at the speed of light! Saturday, we met Leslie, Jonathan and others at the Summit Lake Winery to celebrate her graduation. It was a good time! Connie (my boss) took Dillon to the river. He played with her kiddos and took a boat ride. He loved it!

Sunday, I went to the grocery store and Jason took off to Cosmo Park for a mountain bike race. I fed Dillon, put him down for his nap and CLEANED THE GARAGE!! Doesn't sound like a big deal, but the place was a HUGE mess. It looks awesome now - if I do say so myself. In fact, I sometimes open the door and just look at it! Jason still need to clean up his bike tools - NO WAY was I touching that stuff! I did not want to be responsible for loosing any tools!

I am getting ready to start my summer stuff for Stephens. I am doing smoking cessation with the help of the Columbia Health Department. If you want to stop smoking, come and see me!!

GRRROOOSSS!!!

Our house has been invaded by ants!! You know, those little sugar ants that somehow find many ways into your house in the spring time. It totally grosses me out!! I know it is nothing to freak out about, but still. I prefer to only live with domesticate critters.

For those of you that don't know, Terro is a wonderful thing! The ants are disappearing. I hope by tonight, there will be none.

Tomorrow, my dear friend Leslie graduates from Stephens with her masters. Congratulations!

Bon Jovi

I am devasted!!! Bon Jovi is singing country music!! He does a duet with someone from Sugarland. So much for a "rock star" image. My childhood fantasies are gone.

A moment of silence for the lost hair band man...
