Merry Christmas!

It is so hard to believe it was here and is now gone! I love this time of year. We traveled and are VERY glad to be home. I am very excited to sleep in my bed tonight!

Jason is a happy man. He got his hot little hands on a Wii. It is a lot of fun. Dillon likes to play it too. We will be playing it New Year's Eve with drinks if you'd like to stop in. (Ok people, that is invite #2. Is anyone going to take me up on my New Year's festivities? Kelci? Kelly? Leslie? Bon Bon?) Curt and Krista will be here. We'll have the kids and dogs!! K and I are going to do the 5K early that afternoon. Let me know, so I can make enough food.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. Here's to a great 2009!!

The count down is on...Santa is coming to our house a little early. I am getting excited.

The cold weather kept us inside most of the day. We did venture out for lunch and then went straight home again. Dillon has cabin fever. I did make it out to the mall and the grocery store and nearly froze in the process. I have to admit, Jason built fires in the fireplace a bunch this weekend and it makes our house so cozy. I love it! I could sit in front of it all day.

Few more days of work and then some much needed vacation. I think Jason is going to take off too so we can spend some time together as a family. We are chilling here on New Years if you need a place to go! Food, drinks, trains and drool!!! What more could you ask for!?! I think Krista and I are going to attempt the First Night 5K on New Year' Eve. You should join us for that too.

Snow Day!

Kind of anyway. I stayed home cause I did not want to try to go in to work and drive with two small children. I did some work here at home - ah, the joys of having that technology!!

Anyway, it was FREEZING in the house all day. I was baffled. I tacked a blanket up over the door, put tape on the front window where I thought I felt a breeze. Nothing seemed to help. I tried to light a fire in the fireplace and I suck, so it did not take. Freezing all the way! Jason got home and started his investigation. Well, come to find out the window behind our tv was cracked open at the top. HELLO, negative wind chills!! No wonder I was freezing. I swear - could I be any more dumb!!?? (Don't answer that question!)

Highlight of the day - telling Dillon he was not going to school and he announced, "Yeah Mommy! Now we can watch PBS kids all night!"
Bummer of the day - I had to cancel my hair appointment and now I cannot get in till after Christmas! Stupid weather! I need a color and a cut BAD!!! So bad that I would for go the color and just take a cut! Also, I got up at 4:30 am and rode the trainer, showered and then found out it was too bad to drive in. Can you say should of stayed in bed?!

Birthday boy!!

Brodie is 6 months old today. I cannot believe it. I know I say that all the time, but time has flown! He got his shots today - YUCK! He weighs 17 pounds and 3 ounces and is 26 inches long. He has grown 6 inches in 6 months! He is a big boy, but I have a feeling he is slowing down, especially since he is starting to move.

On another note. We are taking the boys to a new place. It is a pediatric clinic through the university. We took Brodie in about a month ago and then this time for his check-up. Both times, the doctor has raked me over the coals about flu shots. I always decline them. Today it did not make them too happy, but oh well. I guess free-will has gone away. She went as far as to tell me, "You don't want him to end up in ICU." If she knew any prevention theory, she would know scare tactics are not proven to have lasting effects. So any way, leave me alone. I am not getting my family the flu shot. (Jason agrees with me.) I am not anal about a lot of things, but I am with the flu shot and the chicken pox vaccine. So there you go, way more than you wanted to know about me.

Sneak Preview:

You saw it first here. Christmas pictures!!

I completed the Jingle Bell 5k yesterday. I posted an ok time. Nothing great, but not too bad for having two small children and being out of shape. I ran the entire thing - which was my goal! And, I am happy to report that I did not get beat by any walkers!!!

You are getting sleeping...

I got hypnotized on Tuesday night. We had a conference at work and entertainment for Tuesday night was a hypnotist from the Lake. I decided to volunteer thinking it would be fun. At first, it was not working. I was not letting my mind go. Finally, I gave in and let go. I hear I was the star of the show. The funny thing is, I remember bits and pieces, but not all of it. It was, in my opinion, close to an out of body experience. Hypnotism is not for those that cannot let someone else be in control of their mind for a few minutes. It was hard for me, but I finally gave it and did it. There are a few funny things I did, like every time I left the room we were in I had to switch my shoes to the different foot and when I came back in the room, vice versa. I knew he told us this command, and it seemed silly - I just had the overwhelming urge to do it. Weird. I am now really interested in hypnosis and the power of the mind! I can tell more stories about it, but I am now tired of typing. Happy Friday!!
