Why am I doing this?

Thursday, December 27, 2007

So I am off this week and Dillon and I have hit the town! We have had a lot of fun. Kinda makes me think I could do this all the time. The only problem is I spend too much money. Granted, right now I have some Christmas money to spend so I am not killing the back account. The bummer is Jason has had to work all week. He thought he might be able to take some time off, but has not. He is a dedicated employee which is great, but too bad the powers that be do not recognize it or even see it.

Anyway, looking forward to a low key New Year's Eve, like always. Not that it is not OK. It is nice not to have to fight the crowds everywhere.

If you don't have kids you should-

OK, maybe not, but boy does it change Christmas! I thought Christmas was fun in years past, but I was wrong. To see Dillon come out on Christmas morning was priceless. Then watching him tear into the gift from Grandma was great. We have pictures, but Jason has not shared them with me yet.

Jason got a punching bag. Boy was it a chore to get that to my house without his help. (I obviously cannot lift 70+ pounds while pregnant.) I owe Connie, Sara, Brad and Chuck and big thank you for making it possible. He was surprised and pleased - I think.

I got a new MP3 player. It is very cool - I hope I know how to use it!

We had a great day staying home. I made a killer ham and now we have a ton left over. If you want to come over for leftovers, call!

I think I am ready!

I think I have finished all my prep work for Christmas. I worked my tail off on Sunday. It was worth it to be finished and get to relax all this week - yeah right.

Saturday night, Steve and Shelia watched Dillon so Jason and I could get dinner and finish Christmas shopping. It is always nice to get to spend time alone with Jason, even if it is at Toys R Us and Wally World. I take what I can get.

I am looking forward to Christmas break. I am ready for some time off to relax. Needless to say, this is my favorite time of year! I can't wait to see Dillon on Christmas morning!!

(Sorry this is oh-so boring. I am getting tired. It is almost my bed time.)

Crazy night and morning

So we were up with Dillon this morning at 3:30 am. He got sick. This cough that he has, gets him choked up at times and then he gets sick. Nothing like having a two year old puke in your hands. So after that, he would not go back to sleep. I got up with him and slept in the recliner. Fun times!

Driving in this morning was fun! It was really foggy and the temperature was well below freezing. To spare you all my major complaining about drivers in this type of weather, all I have to say is stay off my butt and where is the fire?

Had to post this

I read this in the paper this morning and nearly came unglued.

YUCK!

Wow! Winter has hit. I have to admit, it was nice to be stuck in the house yesterday. Jason did get out to the grocery store and then we decided to take Dillon to the library. That is it though. I am sitting here this morning trying to decide if I should try and make the trek in to work. Any other time I would go for it, but being pregnant and having to take Dillon changes a lot. I am just wondering if I don't go today, when will I be able to make there again this week? Thursday? Of course, I have a big meeting scheduled for Wednesday. Guess we will wait and see.

Ahhh, Missouri winters!

I was going to wait-

I was not going to post this tonight, but for some reason pictures would not load on my blog. This is a true testament to see who reads my blog and how fast word of mouth stuff spreads. You ready? Really? This is good.

This summer, Dillon is going to have a brother or sister! Yes, I am pregnant. I am almost out of my first trimester. I figured I better let the world know (with Jason's blessing) because my belly is growing A LOT faster this time and concealing it for much longer will be tough.

So there you have it. Let the phone calls and e-mails begin!! :-)

Santa Claus

After making Dillon's list for Santa this morning, all he talked about was going to see Santa. So, after dinner I broke and we took him to the mall. Needless to say, all the talk did not pan out. We finally got him within 3 feet of Santa, but he wouldn't look at him or talk to him. He did not do too bad though. This is the first time he has seen Santa in person.

I wore Christmas socks tonight. As I was sitting in the play area at the mall, scolding some kid for trying to pull my son down the slide by his pants, I realized that I am a Mom - Christmas socks and all. Not a MILF, a Mom. Don't worry, I don't own any seasonal sweaters. I do have a cute shirt from Target with an ornament on it, but that is it. (Sorry, if you have seasonal sweaters. No offense - they are just not me!)
